Art & Design

Art is taught by a specialist teacher at Sarum Hall from Year 2. The girls are taught in half-classes in the Art Room, enabling them to work on a larger scale and for art projects to be ambitious in concept.

The Art Room is spacious and well-resourced with a good range of quality materials available to the girls. The Head of Art oversees the curriculum and encourages, when appropriate, cross-curricular themes. Strong links exist with music, dance and French to create opportunities for the girls to be involved in a variety of Expressive Art performances.

Full advantage is taken of the school's location with frequent visits to galleries and museums supporting the Art curriculum. Pupils are encouraged to use a variety of media, and workshops are regularly organised with visiting artists.

My favourite subject is art because you can get messy and you can be creative.!

The teachers are very good at explaining things and if you are stuck, the teacher will take as much time as you need to explain.

My greatest achievement was when I got twenty good works. I felt very proud!
