Physical Education (PE)

PE is taught in every year group. Sarum Hall girls benefit from a purpose-built and fully equipped gymnasium and superb outside space incorporating a netball court and four short-tennis courts. Swimming lessons take place at the nearby Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre.

Our balanced PE programme provides pupils with the opportunity to acquire and develop skills in a range of activities such as gymnastics, dance, games and core skills, athletics, cricket, rounders, football and swimming. The school environment, inside and out, allows girls the space in which to become skilful and intelligent performers, to be physically active and to be aware of the benefits - now and in later life - of physical activity.

Participation in PE, irrespective of age or skill level, is good for the body, mind and soul and builds girls' self-esteem, confidence, tolerance, co-operation and empathy. Pupils are able to become independent learners, creative thinkers and problem solvers; self-expression and creativity are very much encouraged in all areas of PE. Pupils also have the opportunity to represent the school in team sports from Year 4.

Sports Day is one of the best events in the school year. We sprint, sack race, do the world cup, egg and spoon and run over the hurdles. I love sports day!.
