Religious Education

Sarum Hall is a school whose principles and ethos are founded upon Christianity while emphasising the moral and spiritual values shared with other faiths. The school community reflects the multi-cultural and multi-faith nature of central London as does the curriculum for religious education.

Girls have the opportunity to look in depth at Christianity and the five other main religions - Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism and Buddhism. Assemblies, although Christian based, also appreciate this diversity. Religious festivals are discussed and celebrated throughout the year groups. The whole school participates in the annual Christmas and Harvest Services at a local church with which the school has links.

Religious education is taught by class teachers from Nursery to Year 3 where cross-curricular themes are developed. From Year 4, the subject is taught by a specialist humanities teacher for one lesson per week.

The teachers are very good at explaining things and if you are stuck, the teacher will take as much time as you need to explain.
