Special Educational Needs

A Learning Support teacher is in school for three and a half days a week.  She liaises very closely with staff and will support girls according to their particular needs: this may be as an individual, in a small group or within class and the dedicated Learning Support Room is utilised accordingly.

Our Gifted and Talented register identifies girls performing consistently above and beyond what may be expected of their age group. Such children may be given extension sessions and activities in small groups, on a rotational basis, depending on the needs of the pupils.

Individual Educational Plans for pupils in need of any type of support are written and reviewed twice a year, in consultation with the relevant staff. The school strives to work in partnership with parents so they are able to fully support their daughter's learning and the Learning Support teacher is in regular contact with the families of all the girls she works with to ensure they fulfil their potential.

The teachers are very good at explaining things and if you are stuck, the teacher will take as much time as you need to explain.
