Houses
From Year 1 the girls are divided into three houses: Tudor (red), Stuart (yellow) and Windsor (blue). Daughters of Old Girls are able to join the same house as their mother and we endeavour to allocate siblings and other family members to the same house wherever possible. The house system fosters a strong sense of belonging and loyalty across the whole school and helps to cultivate strong relationships between girls in differing year groups. This is especially beneficial to the younger girls who often find a mentor or special friend in an older pupil.
Each term a House Captain, Vice Captain and Games Captain are chosen. Each Friday girls sit in their houses rather than class groups for lunch, with the House Captain at the head of their table.
Sporting competitions are keenly contested with House netball and rounders competitions taking place in the Spring and Summer terms. Sports Day is particularly exciting with the Sports Day Cup, festooned in the winning house colours, presented to the winning house at the end of the day.
House points and neat points are earned by girls in the course of their school work. These are tallied each week and the House and Neat Point Cups are awarded to the winning Houses. The cups are proudly displayed in the dining hall for the week. At the end of term and the end of the academic year, the House with the most points over the whole year is awarded the Cup for the term and year.
