Special Events
Open Day
An annual Saturday Open Day is held each Spring Term enabling girls to bring their families into school to view work within their classroom and around school. Parents are entertained by performances by the junior and senior choirs and at the end of the morning there is a fiercely contested netball match between the current Year 6 A team and a team made up of leavers from the previous year.
Old Girls are warmly invited to attend our Open Day and those who do enjoy lunch with staff, the perfect way to catch up and learn what our leavers have been up to since we saw them last, as well as seeing how Sarum Hall has changed over the years.
Grandparents’ Day
For this very special day we encourage girls to invite their grandparents to visit the school and see some of their work. The visitors are entertained by a pupil concert followed by a tour of the school and a special tea in the dining room.
Fathers’ Day
During Fathers' Day the fathers of girls in Nursery and Reception are invited to spend time in class with their daughters, and get 'hands-on' experience of exciting (and occasionally messy!) activities such as construction, puppet theatre, cooking, art and crafts and reading. The girls love showing off their classroom and obviously enjoy their fathers' taking part. It is also a great opportunity for our girls' fathers to meet each other, something which can otherwise prove difficult to do during a busy term.
Christmas
Sarum Hall is delighted to hold an annual carol service at St Mary’s, our local church, just before the end of the Autumn Term. Nativity plays are performed for parents by the girls in Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 1. All the girls enjoy traditional festive parties at the end of the term.
Harvest Festival
We celebrate harvest festival with a service at St Mary’s Church. The generous harvest contributions donated by Sarum Hall families each year are taken to the Simon Community, a homeless centre in Kentish Town.
Plays and Musicals
As well as the traditional Nativity plays at Christmas, at the end of the Summer Term Nursery and Reception girls present a short musical play to parents. Year 6 pupils work throughout their final term on a full-scale production which is then performed for families on two nights during their last week at Sarum Hall.
