Our warm and welcoming library is a pleasant working environment where pupils’ learning is supported and where their knowledge may be furthered and extended.

It is also a place where our pupils can relax, read and borrow books during their break times. The library resources encourage pupils to research information and help engender a love of reading.

The large fiction section is constantly updated with a continuous flow of new books alongside well-loved classics. Our non-fiction books cover subjects taught throughout the school, as well as leisure or outside interests.

The library is open each morning break time when girls have the opportunity to select new books to take home. Librarians from Years 5 and 6 work alongside parent helpers to advise and assist the younger girls.

The library supports World Book Day and Book Week through a variety of activities, such as an inter house book quiz, dressing up as favourite book characters, sharing favourite books designing bookmarks and writing book reviews. Our girls are introduced to new literature and there is an opportunity to purchase books on the day.

“The best thing about school is… the brilliant classrooms, the library, the playground.”
