Key Stage 1 consists of year groups Year 1 and Year 2. Each class has a form tutor who leads the teaching and a Teaching and Learning Assistant to support them.
Form tutors teach their forms the majority of academic subjects: English, maths, science, history, geography, RE, art, design technology and PSHEE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education). Girls are taught by subject specialist teachers for French, physical education (PE), computing, music and drama. Art & design is taught by a subject specialist in Year 2.
Key Stage 1 builds on the learning experiences in the Early Years Foundation Stage. The curriculum is broad and balanced, going beyond the national curriculum and girls learn skills, as well as knowledge. At Christmas, both Year 1 and 2 girls perform in a production.
