Wellbeing and e-Safety

We believe in teaching the pupils a set of transferrable skills which they will use and apply in all aspects of life in order to establish them as strong, confident and independent young people with a zest for life and an understanding of their important role in society.

We have a First Aid Lead and a dedicated medical room that is accessible to all.

The First Aid Lead is responsible for providing a quick response to any health needs that the pupils may have. This includes first aid, and the holistic assessment and treatment of any illnesses that a pupil may suffer from during the school day. Pupils with long-standing health needs are met with regularly and have an individual care plan to ensure that their needs are addressed consistently, and their school life is not disrupted by illness. All of our teaching staff are trained in first aid.

All of our staff are available to any pupil who wish to discuss a worry, concern or need emotional support while they are at school.

Be SMART, think before you click!

Technology is integral to modern life and internet access is part of our daily lives at work, school and home. The online world provides an endless array of opportunities and possibilities for us to connect, explore, share and learn and the way that children and adults use these is ever-changing.  There are risks associated with new technologies and it is essential for young people and their parents and carers to understand how to reduce and manage these risks to make the most of the opportunities that the internet provides.

At the very core of our e-safety curriculum at Sarum Hall School is knowing how to identify when things are unsafe and where to go if pupils find themselves in a situation they are uncomfortable with. Just like crossing the road, we don’t tell children not to do it, we teach them how to navigate the potential dangers. We are committed to giving everyone the tools they need to develop their own sense of digital wellbeing. Their wellbeing can be influenced by the choices they make online, the content they see, the interactions they have with others and even how long they spend engaging with technology and the internet.

At Sarum Hall School, we subscribe to Childnet’s Digital Leaders training programme. Each year, we appoint several Digital Leaders and empower them to help educate their peers about online safety.

Parents and carers play a key role in supporting children to learn about how to stay safe online, and they are one of the first people children turn to if things go wrong. We know it can be challenging to stay on top of new developments in this area, so we hope that the advice on the following website links help.
