Sports

We are proud of our outdoor space which boasts a floodlit netball court and 4 short tennis courts. The purpose built and fully equipped gym also ensures that we are able to hold the majority of our sports lessons at school regardless of the weather. The girls have dance, gymnastics and yoga alongside training in other sports such as netball, football and hockey.

Physical Education enables pupils to develop confidence and skills in a range of activities such as dance, games, gymnastics, swimming and outdoor and adventurous activities. They work as individuals, in groups and in teams and learn the value of healthy, active lifestyles.

We offer a rich programme of P.E and Sports.  In addition to our own well equipped gym and courts, we make use of local sports facilities.  We have two specialist sports teachers who introduce the children to a wide-range of sports including Netball, Football, Hockey, Athletics and Gymnastics.  In Y4, girls also have regular swimming lessons.

The girls enjoy participating in matches against each other in school inter-house sports competitions.  They also have the opportunity to represent the school in matches against other schools.  Although our teams are competitive, we teach the children the importance of good sportsmanship and what it mean to be a sports person, focusing on having fun and being your best, as well as recognising the success of your peers and other competitors.

Sport improves physical fitness, stamina, flexibility, agility, strength and balance. We encourage and support each child to reach her own sporting ambition.

“Why did we choose Sarum Hall? Its reputation and our observations on the school’s value system and pastoral care, and how they raise the girls in addition to educating them. Also their commitment to music, the arts and extra-curricular activities.”
