School Day

At the heart of Sarum Hall School is a sense of purpose. The balanced and enriched academic curriculum is complemented by a wide range of activities outside the classroom, and opportunities to play and perform. In every aspect of school life, pupils are encouraged to develop their learning, thinking and personal skills.

We are a caring community where tolerance and mutual respect are highly valued. Our school is a happy and exciting place to be; pupils show concern for others and demonstrate kindness. The foundations laid here – and the friendships made – last a lifetime.

The School Day

School opens at 8.15am and there is supervision in the playground until the pupils go to their classroom at 8.25am. A breakfast club is available from 7.30am at an additional cost.

School assembly takes place at 8.40am at least three times per week; House meetings or form time occur once each week.

All pupils enjoy a half-hour morning break with a snack provided by the school. Breaks take place outdoors in the playground and the garden. Lunch is also followed by outdoor play.

Leaving times for each year group are staggered. After-school clubs run until later.

“From an early age, a strong emphasis on resilience and perseverance helps pupils to develop self-understanding and self-discipline.  This is supported by the very warm relationships evident between pupils, their peers and the whole school community which, in turn, helps build confidence in a trusting and caring environment.”

“Why did we choose Sarum Hall? Its reputation and our observations on the school’s value system and pastoral care, and how they raise the girls in addition to educating them. Also their commitment to music, the arts and extra-curricular activities.”
